Accelerating How Professional Speakers & Industry Leaders Learn the CRAFT of Speaking

We are living through a period of unprecedented transformation and change at the moment, the likes of which humanity has never seen before. From the health of the planet, to social disruption, to geo-political unrest, we are at a tipping point.
And, when it comes to speaking in front of audiences in these tempestuous times, the call is to do it DIFFERENTLY.
It is no longer enough to deliver tepid talks which are primarily PowerPoint presentations cluttered with charts, graphs and other information prompts. This dated style of speaking sucks the life out of the room and kills the message. Today, audiences want to FEEL something and experience a shared sense of humanity. The ask is for talks that matter and for deep-rooted and authentic connection.
To realize these high goals and to more meaningfully connect with audiences, there must be more than just knowledge-sharing and stale facts.
There must be CRAFT.
Craft is in the DNA of the very best talks. It’s at the heart of a speaking performance that looks “effortless”; it’s that feeling of harmony and equilibrium that radiates into the room when a speaker is in flow with their content and their delivery; it’s the magic feeling audiences get when they feel heard, seen and valued by a speaker and spontaneously exclaim afterwards that: “It felt like she was talking directly to me!”
Craft is to the speaking arts, what water is to a river. Integral.
But, there is a problem. Where do speakers learn craft?
Where do they go to study the core skills which are at the center of WHAT they say and HOW they say it?
Frankly, there aren’t many options out there, and to fill this gap and to accelerate how professional speakers and industry leaders learn the craft of speaking, I have built The Leadership Speaking Studio.
Welcome in…
What is The Leadership Speaking Studio?
The Leadership Speaking Studio is a one-of-a-kind speaker training program for speakers and industry leaders who are committed to professional growth.
Located near Geneva, Switzerland, it is the only European-based program that teaches the craft elements of the speaking arts for professionals.
From strategic storytelling and compelling content creation, to how to apply presence, breath, voice and movement to the delivery of speaking performances, students learn the core, artisanal skills needed to create and deliver talks that have a heartbeat and which heighten speaking and leadership careers.
Who is the Studio for?
- PROFESSIONAL SPEAKERS who want to be LEADERS in the business of speaking
- INDUSTRY LEADERS who LEAD their peers, teams and company’s mission
- MOVERS, SHAKERS and CHANGE-MAKERS who are LEADING the change
How is The Leadership Speaking Studio different from other speaker training programs?
At the Studio, we believe that PUBLIC SPEAKING IS A PERFORMING ART, and we teach it that way.
The work is craft-based, embodied and fully immersive. There are no Powerpoint slides, no sitting down and passive listening for hours about how to do things, and no template-style teaching. One size does not fit all and the work is tailored to serve each student’s individual needs.
Our approach is that students bring their own uniqueness and idiosyncratic style to the program and by doing the work, discover through craft, how they can show up as the best versions of themselves every time they speak in front of their audiences.

Yes, but what exactly is “craft”?
Craft is about doing – rehearsing, repeating and reworking artful skills over and over again until they are fused into the body and become “of” that person. All professionals have learned craft. From chefs, to accountants, to performing artists, craft encompasses the plethora of core skills that they have learned and worked on tirelessly over time until they become organic and a natural part of how the work is done.
For professional speakers and industry leaders, craft in public speaking is about how they skillfully, and by design, create compelling content and how they deliver that content in an embodied way with presence, breath, voice and movement. When they have learned the craft-based skills required to do these essential elements of professional speaking, they are freed to bring forth what is within every time they speak.

How is the program structured?
There are two layers of the program: The Foundational Layer and The Craft-Practice Layer
The Foundational Layer:
For the Foundational Layer, students come to Switzerland, and for three consecutive days enter the Studio, working from head-to-toe on the embodiment of the craft. Using an existing talk, they rework, revise and reset the content, heightening it to a brand new level. Once the content has been reworked, students learn how to apply the craft-based skills of presence, breath, voice and movement to the delivery of their talk, elevating it to the highest professional standard.
Students leave the Studio after their three day immersion with a fully reworked version of their existing talk and a clear and clean path forward for how to deliver it with impact, authenticity and human connection. Furthermore, they have now been initiated into the form and practice of the craft of Leadership Speaking and can apply it to any speaking performance going forward.
The Craft-Practice Layer:
Closely following their time in the Studio, students are invited back into the community to continue to practice the craft. Online “Studio Workouts” are scheduled monthly to allow students to continue to work on existing or brand new talks, either focusing on applying the craft to the content creation or to the delivery performance of their work. The regular Workouts keep the craft-based skills fresh and alive and bring the community closer together for connection, encouragement and support.
Who are the teachers?
The Leadership Speaking Studio is unique in that there are no actors, adjunct teachers or trained trainers who teach. All of the teaching is done by one teacher, Dr. Laura Penn, who has founded the pioneering method of “Leadership Speaking”. For nearly twenty years she has transformed the way thousands of leaders, teams and change-makers from around the world create and deliver their talks and key messages.
Over the years, she has supported her students to increase their influence and impact within their communities, motivate and engage their audiences to take action, and has helped them to make the world a better place, one talk at a time. But most importantly, her students share that her support unlocks their full potential as speakers and creates a whole new vision and path for them to develop into the best versions of themselves as leaders who speak.
How do I apply?
Once you’ve decided that the program is a good fit for you, we would love to hear from you. With such a bespoke and transformational approach, each Studio cohort is limited to only six students, so our application is our way of finding out if you and the Program are a match.
If you are, we’ll get back to you within three working days and schedule a video call to answer any questions you may have and to share the logistical details about the Program, including its cost.
Our next cohort dates are February 6, 7, & 8, 2026 in Switzerland.
If you are committed to professional growth and feel ready to substantially accelerate your speaking and/or your leadership career, please APPLY HERE
