Public Speaking Training for Teenagers
Overview
In today’s hyper-connected world, all young people should ideally learn public speaking skills and how to communicate effectively, but very few have the opportunity.
Understanding this, Dr. Penn has created a brand new program aimed at upper secondary students who attend boarding school. Over a period of 1 to 2 weeks, she will stay on campus for a teaching residency, working with different cohorts of students, up-skilling them in the coveted craft of leadership speaking.
The work is immersive, intensive and highly experiential, with students working hands on with the craft elements of storytelling, presence, breath, voice and movement.
What will Students learn?
The powerful skills the students will learn in this bespoke training will engage them from head-to-toe and wake up their communication potential, activating their life-long learning of public speaking and effective communication.
Learning the craft of leadership speaking early as teenagers is an incredible advantage, as it will support them with a brand new “superpower”, which will serve them in every communication opportunity they have going forward.
Whether speaking in university admissions interviews, giving an academic presentation or interviewing for a future internship or job opportunity, the skills they learn in this training will support them to show up as the best versions of themselves every time they speak.
